Chelsea Turner, chief operations officer for Massachusetts’ Council on Gaming and Health, says that since sports betting became legal in the state earlier this year, she’s seen a dramatic increase in the number of residents calling its gambling problem help line or opting to self-exclude from betting. She says the state should also invest in research into responsible gaming and other social impacts of an online lottery.
